Telegraph online vote for de-lisitng of Crown Jewel Sports : Fri Apr 03, 2009 8:34 am  

Don't get confused by this one! The Telegraph article says which of the Crown Jewel Sports (including RL) should be kept. However, the online poll asked which events should be "de-listed". Seems like a number of RL fans have fallen into the trap of voting for their sport and not realising that they cleverly switched the question. A low act IMO. I think de-listing it will be much better, for me , anything stuck on terrestrial is a shocker, I have the whole HD Sky kit but I cant get any of the "crown jewels" in HD unless I get free sat of course.

Its also pretty clear that none of the other terrestrial channels are interested in RL so lets give it to a company that is.

NO!
Simply put, if it's on Sky you limit the opportunity of the game being exposed (even if badly) to a much larger audience.
Let's compare the viewing figures from this weekends double header with the grand final. Bet you the BBC get the bigger audience.
I know the commentary team leave a lot to be desired, but this can be rectified by the RFL themselves getting involved.
Sky would just use the CC to leverage extra subscribers and let's face it, if you are a RL fan, you probably already have it.
Mind you, if the BBC lose out here, I believe it will be the begining of the end for the licence fee ,
but still, NO!

NO NO NO. We need the Beeb to get maximum exposure. It would be a disaster for RL if it were delisted!!

I used to think like you about it , but I think they don't respect it enough myself.

Let SKY have it. At least they do it properly.

An awful production by the BBC is better than excellent RL on SKY.

Looking at that Guardian poll, it seems we're favourite for the chop.

Seriously.....it's all well and good when you have Sky HD, but we need to get the BBC to spend more time on the CC. Get rid of JDavis.....keep Balding and find a comentator who doesn't sound like he keeps pigeons or whippets.

Seems to me the Telegraph has already de-listed RL. It's only accessible from the A-Z menu. It’s not even included in ‘Other Sports’!!!

Dave Woods & Jon Champion seem to do a good job.
