Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions

Re: World Cup Ticket Sales : Wed Oct 09, 2013 6:05 pm
Lots of adverstising hoardings along the M62. One in particular made me laugh, heading Westbound approaching Junction 11 a couple of miles out of Manchester.

There is an RLWC advert down in a farmers field, surrounded by tractors, debris and general animal faeces. Hardly visible. Then 100 yards further on, there is a huge empty board right at the side of the hard shoulder saying "ADVERTISE HERE".

50k sold for Wembley according to Martyn Sadler on twitter. Looking like a sell out. Brilliant.

Does that mean you and the other doom mongers will now have an excuse if it isn't the disaster you have been forcasting? lol

If one show pony is the catalyst for a month long tournament to now be considered a success, then the sport is in worse shape than I thought

he will shift some tickets, of that there can be no doubt, but a couple of thousand here and there isn't a game changer.

That's fantastic news...it is key that regardless of the games that will struggle to get crowds that the games that will be on FTA TV are sold out.

BTW, it is still a concern that various journalists are leaking these unconfirmed figures on Twitter but the games governing body are silent on the matter!

Still...at least they've sorted out the bubbles for the tournament now

Just been to my local gym. Kirklees council have assigned all the 14 gyms in their area a team from the World Cup. Come in to mine today to find PNG flags and buntin already to be put up. Kirklees council really have promoted the tournament!!

Unlike St Helens Council, which has done sod all. As indeed have Saints.
