Walking away from the Bulldogs was wrong but plenty of RL players have done far far worse.

We've had drug cheats, Coke heads, domestic abusers, drunk drivers etc etc. SBW walking away from a contract is small-time compared to that.

Jamie Lyon walked away from a Parramatta contract back in 2004 saying he was done with the NRL. Played country RL before a St Helens stint for 2 years before wanting a return to the NRL. Turned down a Parramatta offer in favour of Manly. Probably not as bad as SBW but similar.

Lyon was true to his word and played lower grade ARL, then SL, before being head hunted back to the NRL. SBW walked away for money, pure and simple and he should never of been allowed back into the NRL. He is the ultimate narcissistic and should rot in Japanese Union rather than cost Toronto what teas like Salford spend on their entire squad.

What does it matter? If he’s so rubbish (as you seem to believe), let Toronto waste the money and it won’t have an impact on the tin pot clubs anyway. If he genuinely isn’t a media draw, or a good player, lock this thread and let it all happen in the background.

The fact is, he is a superstar, playing 2 codes at the top. Benji Marshall might be a spent force from what he once was, having code hopped for money, but still captain of NZ and getting the job done.

Not head hunted at all. He made contact with Parramatta seeking a return to the NRL and went into negotiations with them. Most were surprised when contract negotiations broke down and other clubs then came in with higher money bids including my club Penrith and Newcastle. Manly came over the top with the highest money bid.

With Lyon it was all about money too and you should be having a discussion with Parramatta legend Peter Sterling about his thoughts on Lyon's treatment of Parramatta, describing him "as lacking class". He also said he shouldn't be allowed back into the NRL.

Disagree on your description of SBW as a narcissist. Have met him and he showed no narcissistic traits whatsoever. Instead I found him to be quite a humble person.

didn't lyon leave the eels cost he wanted to go to manly and play under hasler, or something, and they wouldn't grant him his release so he downed tools for the duration of his contract?

Williams played an average of 28 minutes over 5 All Black games at the current RWC, starting one game and being used as an impact sub 3 times and was rested for the namibian game. He scored 1 try against Canada (the lowest scoring side at the comp).
In 7 Games in 2015 RWC he played a average 40 minutes a game and scored 1 try.
In 2011 he scored 4 tries in an average game time of 62 minutes in pool play where he started 3 games and was used 3 times as an impact sub in the finals games.

So, he's gone from 62 minutes to 28 minutes of game time as a substitute in Union and people think he's the "David Beckham" of North American Rugby League

And back to an 80 min player in the playoff match today against Wales. A good solid game in the centres in the 40-17 demolition. Set up a good try to fellow centre Crotty with a characteristic run and offload and was sound defensively.

Time to reset your SBW compass!

He had a great game but don’t expect Gutterfax to give him any credit

To be fair, today was a game nobody wanted to play. ~However NZ showed a lot of class and beat a tired and battered Wales team in the centres and out wide. SBW wasn't outstanding but a solid performance from him. I t would love to see him in SL, will be a draw for away fans aswell as Torronto. Our sport needs to think of the bigger picture and yes SBW is a houshold name, even my mum knows who he is

Time to check your watch..... Pulled at 57 minutes.

Had an average game in a match neither team wanted. As i have said, his offload is his one weapon..... He'll do a job in SL but not for the money being discussed. Argyle is an owner, not a coach and he can afford the money, but if Noble and Brian would rather spend that cash on one show pony to fill an already full stadoum then neither deserve to be near a sl side.... SBW will cost them more than most sides will spend on a reserve squad
