Wakefield had the chance and both teams would be in the stadium by now, but they rejected the feasibility study the council proposed.

Who's building said stadium in Normanton?

Cas would have had the option to share at NM - the tidy stadium you describe, situated just off the M62 and equidistant between Wakey and Cas.
I think Tricky Dicky has scuppered that one though, given that he's just made CRTLFC an objector to the planning permission.

WTF? what a load of made up rubbish, who the hell would be paying for this stadium. Whereas there is a stadium that will get built to no cost of both clubs if it gets bast this PI but you lot have been just as resistant to the idea as us . If we jumped on board GH it still won't be built any quicker would it?

Cas were never going to play out of Newmarket
The Keepmoat on the other hand however...

The £4m the council offered would have covered the shortfall from Ben Bailey homes, meaning Castleford Tigers RLFC and the WMDC would have paid, meaning Wakefield would have only had to pay rent.

I have just seen where Newmarket is on google (I think).
Thats just bloody mental. Wakefield council should just build a cracking community facility there, tell both teams to groundshare, and if Cas object let them go it alone.
Bloody madness.

Wakefield rejected that chance.
The council suggested that they pay for a feasibility study to see whether Glasshoughton or Newmarket would be the better choice and then both teams play in the stadium, Wakefield said NO.
The only team at fault for both teams not being in a new stadium is WAKEFIELD.

The council shouldn't have given the teams a choice. They should have done their own feasability study, told both teams where the new stadium was going, and told them to either move in or shut up.

Wakefield said no for that very reason, they knew Glasshoughton would have been the councils recommendation.

And you know this as fact how?
Looks like Newmarket is a far better site for a groundshare (to the untrained eye admittedly).

So, you would have been happy Cas being a tenant at Newmarket if that is what the study concluded then Gronk? You do surprise me!
