I think Crusaders have done really well so far, if they can average around 5000 and not finish in the bottom two, they have done a hell of a lot better than anyone thought. Saying this, I also think that the Challenge Cup tie against Catalans should be marketed, even if they make a loss financially on the day, I think the national coverage with a win in front of a big crowd will do the club a world of good in the long run.

Beat Catalans, home draw against one of the championship clubs, win that and they're in the semis and in a with a shout of Wembley. Wrexham FC took 20k+ to Wembley for the LDV Vans trophy a few years back. A Wembley appearance would probably do more for the club than it did for Sheffield, London or Catalans.

Blatantly photoshopped!

What the picture doesn't show is that the fans were mostly in the middle behind the sticks, so not filling at least half the upper tier of the stand which holds 2000 without the gaps in the crowd in the picture.

See link below for what the stand looks like and I would say that the Hudds fans were in the main in the two middle blocks and a few on either side, there's no way that stand was half full so unless there were a few hundered dotted around the rest of the ground 500 would be about right.

Crusaders are in negotiations for a 5 year franchise apparently if their CEO is to be believed.....

http://www.leaderlive.co.uk/news/87794/ ... chise.aspx

Not quite sure how that fits into a 3 year licencing cycle.

I assume they mean rest of this cycle plus the next cycle.

:D The one I've got is of the Crusaders warming up and there's no more than 50 Hudds fans there, was going to post just out of mischief and thought better of it!

On that pic the four wider ones were fullest and in picture - I was stood at the far left in the top picture. The sides were quieter but had people in there.

Decent turnout.

This thread details the turnout and who said what - you will notice I also said there was "half of that" until it was said the info came from the red ticket office.

Do you know, I thought it was strange that Huddersfield had so many sets of triplets supporting them and that, being siblings, they weren't standing together. :D

excellant following from the giants, well over a 1000 giants there

stand behind the goal was packed

where have crusaders 10000 gone?? that was the first game mind then the gareth thomas publicity stunt helped pack a few more in but now the novelty is already wearing off
