That's pathetic in a stadium with an 18,000 capacity and only a week to go. Shows what no marketing whatsoever can do for you I guess.

I've just managed to get tickets sorted for the semi final after an hour of not being able to get through. Woman on the phone said that tickets across the board have been selling like hotcakes tonight.

After saying that it's sold out, it would seem that a hundred or two extra seats have been found in the North Stand in Avignon.

:SLEEPY:

It is what it is. The Huddersfield game was always going to be first pick this weekend. That only sold out a week ago, so now everyone's second choice or second game will be at Saints.

Unless your William in which case it's the first choice game.

Is Australia vs Fiji at Langtree Park going to be the great attendance disappointment of the World Cup?

Why wouldn't most St Helens fans, and many Wigan, Widnes and Warrington fans, want to go to see some great rugby league being played in their back yard?

Because there's a game on before it featuring the host nation 45 minutes up the road.

I'm not going to the England game so I will be going to the game at St Helens, I think some will double up however it's understandable that some may not want to do both.

I reckon a 24,000 plus sell out at Huddersfield and a 10,000 plus crowd at St Helens in the same day isn't bad going myself.

I'm going to the Aus V fiji game simply because I can't make the England game. It will be a good game but with England playing up the road in a sell out game a few hours earlier I can see why it would put people off. it's a shame they didn't put the australia game on the friday night with the only other game that day being in france.

and so to bristol. their local paper is doing a piece on the ticket sales ahead of the game tomorrow but it looks like it could be over 5000 which would be incredible, and all credit to them for the way they have took this onboard and marketed it. lessons to be learned by others no doubt

The problem with advertising is the cost and how you recoup that. You can lose money through advertising. Especially with ticket costs so low and returns to the clubs through food sales only. No point spending a fiver to earn only £4.

Not going great, but probably not helped by England playing the same day in Huddersfield.

That article states that due to demand for standing, the East Stand is now open. Odd, as I bought tickets for the East Stand for this game last November, and received them weeks ago.

There's 3 and half hours between, so it shouldn't be a great difficulty - I'll be doing it by public transport. I bought tickets for the game at St Helens first, then waited until kick off times were known before getting the Huddersfield ticket.

The Aus Fiji game has the potential to be like the NZ Samoa game, with a vocal crowd getting behind some big-hitting underdogs.
