No longer in Yorkshire . . . . it's sunny Cornwall from here on in :)

After the frankly OTT euphoria that surrounded the result on Friday (check out the Leeds result today for a bit of perspective), it is back down to earth with a bump.

Yeah. . . . . but it was Leeds, ME

Stains, Us and then Salford. I'd say we were in good company . . . and that Salford (even though all credit to them) caught the Whino's on the back of some heavy mind games / visibly effective tactics . . . .

Dead easy to crawl out from behind the lines to bayonet the wounded, isn't it?

And?

After the result v Leeds on Friday, it is business as usual. Mcnamara is calling the players "dumb" again and the same old mistakes are being reported as still being a major issue.

But they lost, and now sit 12th in the table, one third of the way through the season. Whether it was by 2 points matters not a great deal.

Still, we beat Leeds so I guess that that is all that matters to some.....

Some see that the odd score here or there would have had us in the next round of the cup, on a four match unbeaten run and nicely placed in teh table with only two defeats all season. Others say that glass is half empty and it's all because of a FRAUD. :)

Very disappointing once more, to see a game that might well have been won slip away.

Plenty of huff and puff today, but not a lot of guile and skill - I think Macca is right to describe a lot of our play as 'dumb'. And I don't buy the tiredness excuse, Wakefield had a game on Friday too, so there was no fundamental reason why that would be a disadvantage.

Looking at a few individuals. Solomona looks well short of any kind of match fitness, made no contribution apart from throwing out a couple of ridiculous passes that went to ground. Worrincy is hesitant and soft in defence, and was at fault for the Atkins try - not the first time his tackling technique has been found wanting this season. Jeffries went missing too often, and Burgess is looking like a shadow of the player of last seaason. Lynch gets 100% for guts but obviously wasn't fit and shouldn't have been playing IMO - I hope that he is not expected to backup and play on Friday otherwise he risks serious long term injury. Surely Crossley (or a recalled James) for prop.

On the positive side Kopczak looked eager and made some good inpact runs, Newton had his best game of the season, Menzies was good and Halley did very little wrong.

After some of the comments from you and some of your merry men on Friday, I would say that you would know a bit more about this than I would TBH.

Still, in fairness, at least you did not encourage me to commit suicide like someone one here did.......
