I thought that he was possibly our best too on Friday, as much as anything for how he just slotted in everywhere and some smart actions - although several like Cook Halley Jeffries and Sykes when at SO ran him close. I can see Beaver becoming increasingly influential in the side as both he and the rest of the side become more familiar with each other - earlier games how many times have we seen him looking for support which was not there? Getting less so now it appeared to me anyway.

Just comparing sides and the players in the posistions mentioned.

In bold the players i'd prefer in my side.

Matt Blaymire -- Halley
Damien Blanch -- Sheriffe
Sean Gleeson -- Sykes
Ryan Atkins -- Crookes
Aaron Murphy --Tadulala
Tony Martin --Menzies
Danny Brough --Jeffries
Oliver Wilkes -- Lynch
Tevita Leo-Latu -- Newton (consistency and due to playing more game time)
Steve Snitch -- Koppy
Dale Ferguson -- Langley Looking a real prospect. :)
Kevin Henderson -- Cook Cant pick either hendo been poor last few yrs however this year playing much better.
Jason Demetriou -- Burgess

Probably the toughest choice ive had to make, burgess a really talented player with a huge amount of potential / future in this game. Against JD, our captain fantastic tries his heart out every game puts 100% in, has had to overcome real adversity both individually and had to be at the fore-front of the recovery from the Watene and Walker Incidents - so for wakefield (my team) id choose Demetriou, for any other burgess would be my selection.

Brad Drew -- Solomona
Danny Sculthorpe -- Scruton getting some games under his belt, getting his fitness levels up, making many yards and chances.
Jay Pitts -- Worrincy
Kyle Bibb -- Donaldson

Cant comment havent seen much of either of bradfords side, however our young players from our academy arent letting us down and tbf are playing really well.

To miss out
Scott Grix
Richard Moore

I get the feeling that this is slightly, just slightly, biased towards Wakefield.
I may be wrong...

Think you could be right.

Demetriou or Burgess? Hmmmmm..........

And don't get me started on rating Martin above Menzies. I'm not saying Martin isn't a good player because I quite rate him but do to do that over Menzies is crazy.

...as do I JD too. Different roles and responsibilities, so comparisons are a bit pointless really when not comparing like with like.

tbf its always hard for regular fans to gage the opposition , 2 days before round 1 i would be shocked to think of tony martin as the dominant player but seeing him this season i can categorically say he has every chance .
however not seeing too much of the bulls this season my judgment may be clouded , as may yours .
all we have to go on is the league table.

In the past when we've played the likes of Bradford, Leeds, Wigan and St Helens, i always think 'Wish i could watch him play in a Trinity shirt', but i can honestly say with possibly the exception of Burgess who is well out of sorts i wouldn't take any of you're players.

Some of your fans are still living in the past, you aren't the team you use to be. Gone are the glory days, you're just the same as the rest of the teams from 3rd - 12th. Very capable of beating of us but also just as likely to lose.

The night is dark and full of terrors.

Winter is coming.

Who knows how it will pan out, no one can take games for granted this season or we may well come unstuck.

Heard Menzies is in good form from Bradford fans at work but not realy seen too much of him, have to say with my rose tinted on, that Brad drew will run the show and win us the game, but hey i've been wrong many times.

Lets hope for good weather and clean game and the best team to win without the refs help.

Safe journey over.
