This is the eternal problem of lower division teams - your better players are always on the radar of higher placed, or wealthier, clubs. It's just one of the background difficulties to be overcome but, of course, any player wants to prove himself at the highest level, so it's an incentive too.

He was released by Leeds a couple of years ago, was actually going to play a few games for Dudley Hill but signed for Hunslet. From there he went to Salford, shame as he is a bradford lad too but I think he might be doing enough at Salford to be kept on

Good news, see how fit he is and get him up to speed as quick as we can, signed to play get him in against Sheff if possible

Well it doesn't so likely that he'll get a training session in before the weekend so I doubt he'll be thrown in without having chance to record his fitness levels. Wakey away will be a big game to throw him into but he's played in some very high profile games so he should be ok,

I dunno, I still feel that the plan has always been to start him against Sheffield. He's a seasoned pro, I'm sure he can handle being thrown in at the deep end

If he says he's fit I'd let the assessment ride, to be honest. We have only seven games to go and it's all or nothing from now on. If it's only half an hour against Sheffield it would be invaluable in terms of 'gelling' with the rest of the squad before the bigger fish turn up to be fried [hopefully].

Well that clear that up then, suppose as long as he is there watching he will get some idea of who he is playing with.

Whilst ideally it would be better for him to get some minutes under his belt, I think Sunday is too soon unless he is already in the country today. Last thing we need is him going in a bit undercooked and picking up a muscle strain or worse. He hasn't played top level rugby for some weeks. Give him a week of training and let's assess where he is rather than gamble a player in an important match. Sheffield won't be coming to make up the numbers, I hope we aren't underestimating them and seeing this match as a foregone conclusion and simply a warm up for the arguably tougher challenges ahead.
