Paul Deacon didn't play tonight and the Bulls turned over the Rhinos.
Coincidence or should we see how we go without Deacs for a while??
I have been critisising him recently but I think it's a coincedence as the kicking game on a whole wasn't an improvement without him and with him on the pitch the game would of been over earlier as he would of kicked those penalties leaving Leeds needing two scores.
He is not on form and maybe a break for a few games will do him good, then we can bring him back in off the bench and see how he goes.
Take your point on the penalties etc but I think Deacs has looked tired recently anyway, maybe this has given us the chance to try out things without him.
The time is almost upon us where we will have to get used to him not being around anyway.

We were discussing that in our little corner of the stand.
The conclusion was that Deacs looks busted to be honest. Maybe he'll benefit from a break; maybe he needs more than that. But Jeffreys looks a far more natural 7 than 6. Its a 6 we still need.
We missed Deacs' goal kicking tonight - could have cost us dear. But the attacking kicks looked much better tonight we thought.
Deacon has been playing carrying an injury and has finally had to have it operated on. Proof if anything you shouldn't play people carrying injuries. I suspect Langley, Lynch, Newton and Burgess are carrying some type of injury/knock. Anybody know what the problem was for Nero?
Maybe Deacs should share Hooker role with Newton and can he do a job at Stand-off because he could swap with Menzies & Newton. After tonight Jeffries deserves the no 7 for a while.
A major problem for the team is that they are setup so everything goes through him and he isn't capable of influencing the game enough for that to be a winning formula, luckily others stepped up tonight when it was needed.
