Overall the summary stats show almost identical values except for the penalties.

Individually the Mose tackle count can,t be right with 8 tackles, he did a lot more than that remember he did 3 tackles in just one set.
Lance coming up with some good defence with 32 tackles.
Manu great all round game and was out best buster in the match.

Are marker tackles a subset of tackles, or should they be added to them? If the latter, then Mose is credited with 10 tackles rather than 8 (and no misses) which still seems a little on the low side.

Marker Tackles are included in the full tackle count.

Thank you. If I'd thought a little harder I'd have been able to work that out by checking the figures given in the summaries. Saturday morning!

Although his stats aren't particularly impressive, I was pleased with LMS contribution. He was aggressive taking it in. Still outworked by the brilliant Thompson/Masoe/Richards efforts but not a bad stint.

Luke Thompson has to stay in our 17. The guy is a work horse, he tackles everything and always puts his hand up to take the ball forward. He's also got really good line speed like Wilkin has.

Good effort from Richards, he's improved alot from last season. Brown has got some tough decisions to make when Laffranchi, Amor and Beaumont are back.

Masoe will need to keep that aggression in the coming weeks otherwise he could see himself out of the starting 17 with Amor, Beaumont and Lafranchi looking for a squad spot.

Both Richards and Thompson are also laying down strong claims for a place in the 17.

The stats also show that Percival had a torrid time trying to handle Gelling.

Next time we play the pies it might be best to put Josh Jones up against him, or get Percival and Turner to switch their positions.

Very notable that Wigans four top metre makers were all backs, while three of the four top metre makers at Saints were forwards.

Beaumount maybe a tough decision but Amor won't be, if he's 100% he will be straight back in.

What I would say is there is no need to play Amor at 70% or 80%. Like we did when we risked him for Leeds. Better to get him back fully fit.

If the boys can keep it going one more week against Hull KR, (never an easy win at their place), then we get some respite with the CC and Bradford and London due to be played.

Laffranchi I'm not sure about, we have certainly missed his defensive duties at times this year, I would have been throwing him in the team after Warrington and Catalan.

And yet, Jones had a terrible game last time he played and he's not the best passer of the ball either whereas Percival is better at serving his winger, assuming we go that way (which we didn't last night, to great effect I thought). Percival also kicked a really great conversion (two actually, regardless of what the refs said) and managed the match winning tackle under significant pressure too.

I'm not bothered what the stats say this week to be honest because what isn't in the stats is effort and aggression which is what got us over the line last night, along with moments of sublime skill from our backs (Tommy Mak's second try for example was just brilliant).
