Saints academy U20 and U18's : Sat Apr 30, 2011 10:14 pm  

Both got beat off Hull today.

As i said in another thread the first teams injury list is having a huge impact on our Academy teams at the minute. Too many changes in each team is taking its toll massively.

Our U18's narrowly lost 20 - 24 today but look out for Mark Percival he is an extremly talented player. A centre who can side step his way through traffic, he scored 2 try's today and terrified each defence he as come up against this season. Fast, Skillfull, beautifull side step and can tackle. Really excitedby this lad and also Danny Yates who is a tremendoes scrum half (he played and scored for our U20's today).

Our U20's was shown a lesson losing 50 - 16 today. Jordan Hand was sent off for apparantly fighting and to be fair looking at the squad list, Saints had drifted in some 17 year olds and also a couple of part time players who are part of the club.

It must be demoralising for the u20s to be the losing side as often as they have been this season, mainly because their team keeps getting raided. I know it's Saints ethos to use the u20s primarily as a training ground for the first team but even so, it must be difficult. And it's a great shame that the first team injuries are having ramifications on the u18s because it would appear that they have been doing very well this season and have some talent in their ranks. Would that be right?

That is spot on. Our U18 team is very talented.
