I would say the same for both Meli and Flannery, and indeed Hargreaves and a couple of others in the squad.

No big deal if Flannery or Meli go. I think both have played well enough to stay however we have youngsters coming through in both positions that can fill in admirably. Meli's finishing is something we'd miss badly, however I'm happy for us to give youth a chance because no matter what happens next year we're going to be up against it from the start with playing in Skidnes.

I think teams need to better themselves each year and improve the squad if it's possible. If meli and flannery leave and and are replaced with lomax and ashurst then imo we are already weaker next year.

Lomax and ashurst are few years off the level of meli and flannery yet, IMO flannery is the best of a avg bunch of backrows we have at saints.

Lomax looks like he'll be a very good player and could do a good job on the wing but meli is a tackle breaker and a great finisher and i think we would miss his attack.

the immediate future looks quite poor for you lot.

The one thing you can gleen from our recent woes and your success is that you dont fair well when you change half the team each season.

Shame, as the derby matches were once again becoming competitive, now I expect us to dominate again - normal business is resumed.

Wigan, unfortunately.

Re: Bulls after Saints duo : Wed Aug 18, 2010 5:18 pm
Why does it look poor ? Meli and Flannary haven't gone to Bradford. And we've signed Shenton and Perry, plus some good young players coming through. I'd say the future looks reasonably bright.

You havent dominated the derbies for the best part of 15 years. Normal service is resumed lol.

As for the immediate future, we will have one of, if not the best squad on paper next season

You do remember who won the last derby (missing key players) don't you?

Heard from a reliable source it's Paul Thorber and Johnny Vegas to boost their front row.
