So DP leaving at end of this season. Supposedly going to Wire and plotting to take Evalds and Trueman with him. I work with some Cas fans and they are going apoplectic..... I do feel sorry for the club as despite our rivalry, I respect the club and the community behind it. Very worrying times for them.........
What more could he realistically achieve with Cas? There's a lot of aging players in the squad and there needs to be a pretty significant transition. I'm not sure Powell would fancy it, especially when he can be given near unlimited resources at Warrington.

Yeah it's sad though. Club stopped backing DP with recruitment drive....

Every dog has it's day, I wouldn't worry about them they'll be ok.
He's done a good job at Cas. I'm sure we'll never forget their most successful ever super league season.
Ha. They were 'classy Cas' for most of that year though. Hardaker, Gale and Eden were unstoppable for the most part. Seemed to run out of steam though, and I think we'd still have beaten them had Hardaker played in the final....

I honestly don’t get this 'super coach' mentality when it comes to Cas and DP. Don’t get me wrong, he’s done well with the limited resources he’s had at the club, but a messiah he isn’t. To me, you judge a coach on what they have won. A LLS and losing every final you’ve ever coached in, isn’t exactly a massive achievement is it?

Maybe it’s just me.
For the facilities and infrastructure Cas have, even getting to a final is a minor miracle, never mind winning the league in 2017. Yes he is a brilliant coach as he made ordinary players, extra ordinary...

Fitting a team in the changing room deserves a bit of praise at that ground.
Powell has done a good job there as he has everywhere hes coached. He will be a hard act to follow at Cas.
