I agree Klich has been better than last season but imo not good enough.
Struijk or Cooper alongside Koch at the back but the worry there is Firpo backed up by Harrison on that side.
A decent side will exploit it for sure.
James has to go but that won`t bring any money in until next season.
Be better taking 25 million for Harrison.
I doubt we will come up with 40 million for Gakpo and will probably spend 10/15 million on someone nobody has heard of.

I agreed with the sentiment that we want people to improve us and we don't want to throw lots of money at people and have spent badly, but I do think we need more options going forward. As someone said above there are plenty decent players who can be picked up quite cheaply. The Brighton squad has had a fraction of the money spent on it over the last three years. We have left it too late this window we were looking at a stunner all night and were now looking to kop off with a ten to twoer

Bamba Dieng signed from Marseille.
Re: The ONLY LUFC Football Thread : Thu Sep 01, 2022 12:40 pm
not sure he has signed as yet but looking likely.
james, with luck, off to Fulham. never ever saw bielsas obsession with him.
I felt left back was more of an issue than another striker. however rodrigo out for 4 weeks and bamford not 100% makes another striker a must

I think we still need a LB but doubt that`s going to happen until January now.
Don`t know much about Dieng.

 Well, this has probably been the worst deadline day we've ever had, if it was another club it would be hilarious

no big deal. remember season breaks for world cup at the end of November. January window is in effect 3 months away. rodrigo only due to miss 3 games.
braithwaite had his contract cancelled at Barcelona. wonder if he could be an option.

Why are they looking at the guy from wolves who for a striker has an awful goal scoring record?
Re: The ONLY LUFC Football Thread : Thu Sep 01, 2022 6:50 pm
because he played for marsch before and scored a lot of goals.
it's probably more how wolves play. nobody scores many there due to there negative style of play

Dieng welcomed to the club at 5pm and by 6pm the deal was pulled
Less than 2 hours to go and no striker relying on biscuit bones and no LB relying on Harpo to come good.
Knowing how things are going we will end up keeping James!
