GH will fry him if he needs to. Same as any coach. I just don't see it happening until we see how we go at the start of next season.

RS hasn't exactly set the bar very high has he. As someone said earlier, it's all well and good saying 'when he's got his own team ...' you're a coach, get the best out of the players you have currently. He's not, and hasn't done all year.

The problem with that if 10 games or so into the new season there is no improvement we would have to find a coach mid season,which would be harder than now.
Also if we did find one mid season he would inherit Smith's choices.
Although I do not believe he is the right man we either get someone new in now or Smith would have to get the full season even if the results do not start well.

RS will not last a start to 2024 which includes the results we’ve seen at the back end of 2023. A run of bad results early next year will pile on huge pressure.

Two 50-0 losses to start next season and I’d say he’d be toast.

I don’t think that will happen though because the side will be completely different.

I`ve posted on the Hetherington thread that MacDonald quite often turned up late for training.
Maybe other players have lost confidence in Smith letting his mates get away with things.
Always certain the split the dressing room.

For me there seem to be little leadership or discipline in the dressing room, this wouldn’t happen under Sinfield with JP etc in there. It’s Smiths doing with not having an out n out captain.

Its nothing to do with the 'captain'. Its the same problem we've had with our core group of players for years. Using your own example, JP wasn't captain. Did he need to be to drag the team with him? Of course not. There's literally nothing stopping Cameron Smith taking charge on the field when someone needs to step up. He doesn't and never has. Neither has anyone else in our current squad. They all wait for someone else to take the lead.

Obviously with GH saying wholesale changes will be incoming for the club, from the list above, who do you see leaving to make way for incomings. I’d say only Olpherts. I think we have already seen a number of the changes. A new #1, #4, #6, #7, #18 incoming and then #10, #14, #16 moved around.

I’d happy to be proven wrong but I do worry about us for next season, given I can only envisage 3 gaps currently, at 4, 7 and 19, but then maybe 22.

Unless more contracted players leave, or we sign some really good players to fill the gaps we have already, we’re not going to be making the top 4 again next season.
