Those are my exact thoughts. I feared we would go for him and end up with another Tui. Now he's signed for Leigh I wonder if we have missed out? I'm taking it as sign we have somebody truly excellent in our sights.

Leigh have had big contributions from their overseas players at 7,8,9 and 13.

So if Milford plays 6 , he’s got plenty going on around him already. Gives him a better chance as he can play within himself for a spell and get settled in. But who knows he could be brilliant from day one or do very little.

We’ve not had anything like that solid spine or real big contribution from quota players.

Milford sounds like a risk that Leeds probably can't afford to take given the major ongoing surgery to our spine, despite the obvious potential. Another Lolohea would be a disaster, even if the talent is there. Leeds need someone who can hit the ground running and fit in with our club. But we need more than 'steady' at the same time. Fingers crossed they get it right...

If we were interested in Milford it would have been the same role as Frawley. You couldn't pair those two at all. He's lost the speed he once had. The biggest risk will be how fit he is, as that's the biggest reason he's gone from being seen as a generational talent to bang average well before he's hit 30.
