I think you're too forgiving on what should be two of our top performers every week. I think our 1,6,7 and 9 were worse, but they didn't help. Too many of our squad are underperforming as individuals, and too many only play well when everyone else does.

Maybe off topic, maybe not, but one thing did make me laugh today was Matt Shaw describing Leeds as a young team. The forwards are, but the average age of the back division is 30, with Ash Handley the youngest at 27. I'm struggling to think of when we've ever had an older set of backs.

We have Newman who would usually be in the back line if fit, and young Max Simpson would have got game time this year if he hadn’t done his knee. We have some decent outside backs coming through the system too still.

I’m not too worried about the age of the back line, although we could do with Martin being back in the second row ideally. A younger FB would make a difference.

We looked like we lacked pace against Saints at times.

We lacked pace all over the pitch most people were stood still when they passed the ball and when they caught the ball. I watched the women's Titans NRL game the day previously and it was faster the forwards ran harder and the halves were more creative.

Not sure who the player is or where we get them from but Leeds are crying out for a leader. A player who sets the tone and calls the shots. I think the character and leadership is the most important thing we should be looking for ideally in either the 7 or 9 position.

Been told that we are coaxing Dane Gagai for fullback position. Knights have a young centre called Krystian who they are promoting next year. But this could be a load of baloney so don't shoot the messenger.

Gagai is 32 years old, he’s not someone I think we should be chasing really

It does sound like science fictional to me, but 32 or not he is a player with absolute star quality. His record speaks for itself.

It does seem apparent that NRL players in their twighlight might be the order of the day in the short term while hoping that Sinfield et al fulfill their longer term potential. Whether that's gagai who knows.

Agreed I’d be very surprised if he came to super league
