Well the Thompson to Wigan is off. Looks like if anyone will get him, it will be us. Obviously his greed is showing through and we have a marquee spot, Wigan don’t. I’m not too sure I want that type of character in the Leeds team.

Greed or he sees our offer(if true) better for him & his Mrs. Long joining the Club will play a part as well imo.
Im still unsure we'll go marquee on another player but if we do Thompson is the type we should be spending it on.

Perhaps it’s just hard for someone who has played for Saints to play for Wigan?

If Thompson wants to sign for Leeds, then I’d be happy for him to.

Any chance we can get a prop in for playoffs? We look light, 1 more injury world be curtains too....
Also re-Thompson, are people that stupid they'd believe what Mcmanus is telling you? If he wouldn't take a pay cut during Covid so what. I wouldn't have either as mortgate to pay and mouths to feed!

Lots of people were in a bad situation but they agreed to the pay cut. He didn't.

This very true , but can't help feeling we don't really know what went on there , there could even be an element of forcing an earlier release to the NRL . Truth is the only person who does know the reasons would be Thompson himself and I may have missed it but I'm not sure he has said his complete side of the story . We all know 2 sides to nearly every story and we usually end up with a version of somewhere between the 2 .
But yes he would be a great addition if and a big if we get him.

People calling Thompson greedy are doing so in internet land, not the real world - In what is a relatively short career, the players have every right to go wherever pays best - what else do they employ a manager/agent for?

If Thompson is looking to come back to the UK, and the Bulldogs are happy for him to do that, why on earth wouldn’t he chase the biggest contract possible? COVID if anything will probably highlight this need more than ever - no pay check is guaranteed in this current climate, so take what you can, when you can, as long as you’re not doing the dirty on anyone. If Thompson has been given permission to test the market, good on him, he’ll get what someone is willing to pay him.

Has there been any reports of Leeds interest in Thompson in the media? I know Wolfe at Saints is on record as saying they would welcome him back, but I can't find anything that mentions Leeds.
