Looking at the league table after this week's results, IMO we have our top eight pretty much nailed on now. We are almost half way in, and the league for me has taken its order.

Wigan
Huddersfield
Warrington
Catalans
Leeds
Bradford
Saints
Hull

with the following:

HKR
Widnes
Wakefield
London
Castleford
Salford

bringing up the bottom contingent...

can anyone see these teams being displaced??? I personally think the top 8 as it stands will be too strong in the second half of the season.

I would say Wakey ave the best chance of sneaking in - but I think they've dropped too many points which they could've gained, and I can't see their 7 match unbeaten run beaing repeated.

I can't see that any of the bottom six have enough wins in them to make the step up

Agree that the top 8 is just about sorted, the only question is Hull KR who are without doubt the best team in the bottom 6. I really don`t think there is anything to choose between the rest of the bottom 6 . anyone from Widnes, Wakey, London, Cas and Salford could finish in 10th or last. As a wakey fan there is no chance of us making the 8.

I have a couple of old mates who are wakefield fans and they said a few weeks ago that they'll be nowhere near the 8.

I personally am surprised how few wins BOTH of us have got - bearing in mind you've somehow only managed one more win than us. If the good friday game had gone the other way you'd be the ones at the bottom - which to me just isn't good enough for you, as much as it isn't good enough for us

Think both Cas and Wakey have a good starting 13 that should compete for 9th / 10th spot. You only have to look at the quality of the top teams younger players to see how far off a top 8 team we are. Both teams are capable of the odd shock win but over the course of the season we are not top 8 . What concerns me is that if we are honest a combined team of todays squads would not make the top 6.

Apart from the fact we couldn't aford a combined team, if we were combining, I'd like as few overseas players as possible.
You have 7 players not born in this country Belly and Dave has 8!

What's the point in that!

I am

He may play for England but he isn't local.

I'd happily keep someone of his or Smith's skills but the others should be replaced with local talent if we were pooling resource. Otherwisethere is no long tterm benefit.
