So how many of you are now happy that we didn't sign Gareth Ellis?

You were never in with a chance of signing him just like we weren't. You'd have bitten his hand off if he would have come to you as would we.

He was going to Leeds or Hull end of.

Never really in with a chance of signing him to be honest.

There has been a few players in the past who have pulled up in the warm up, but given last season and last night the niggles maybe be starting to pile up for him.

It's a shame for him to get injured like he did without making the kick off, listening to Mc,Ray its not a recurrence of his old ankle injury, but looking at Ellis afterwords and his face told a lot more than just disappointment.

His first injury was bad last year & for him to hurt the same ankle in warm up will have tongues waging & Hull FC will have to play the waiting game to see how long it takes to get wright.

At the begining i did want Cas to sign him with him being a Cas lad, but know if things dont go well we might have dodged a bullet.

Foot, not ankle.

Of course that was just disappointment too, he was missing his debut (as captain) against the team where he's won the most trophies. You can't take anything else from it because there's nothing else to it.

Whether it's his foot or ankle it's a shame we never got to see him play & if it is the pitch to blame it needs sorting.

How could the pitch be at fault? If you listened to bill arthur during the game he states that Gaz set off to start a warm up drill and felt pain in his foot. Pitch not blame, 35 other players warmed up and played a full game with no other problems.

My gut instinct says that top NRL teams don't let good players go for no reason. He barely played for Wests last year and maybe they had more detailed medical information than any club could hope to gain in a pre-transfer medical?

I haven't spokn to him but a family member has who said that he's rebroken the same foot as the one which ruined last season in Australia for him.
