Unfortunately, that's not the way that compulsory purchase works.

Close but no medal. The bit below where there are two roads. They are going to be joined up as one road to the roundabout allowing direct access to the stadium.

You mean fortunately - believe it or not I want you to get your stadium and us to get ours (wishful thinking, I know). Actually, I'll be sorry to see WR go, I love that type of stadium - not really suitable for the la-di-da RFL nobeds though, is it.
I honestly think that the heart and soul of RL is being ripped apart by soul-less hyenas with fake tans interested only in fake plastic stadia filled with 'middle class' plastic fans watching plastic rugby played by plastic participants interested more in their bank balance than the sheer pride of playing for their team. The futures bright, the futures plastic!! Not the kinf of future I want to look forward to, TBH. Good night!

I mean unfortunately. It means that "they" can get "their" hands on what "I" have managed to scrape together whenever "they" like at whatever price "they" deem suitable provided that "they" can demonstrate that it's in "the public interest". Doesn't really matter that in this case it could be working in "my" favour.

| Depends on how 'they' define market value. The fact that 'they' need it for their multi-million pound stadium surely MUST increase it's market value, and that should be taken into account when fixing a price.
I'd agree with your sentiments if it was someones house or garden, but in this case there is surely no sentimental value to the land?

| There's a difference? It's the principle I'm talking about, here.

| Can't let luddites and NIMBYs stand in the way of progress. As long as it's fair and for the greater good - trouble is you have to rely on politicians to make that call!

| Nice attempt at a windup.
However, this thread isn't about my personal feelings on the wider issues of compulsory purchase. Unfortunately it was and unfortunately it stays, IMHO. Maybe we can thrash this one out over a pint sometime, but this message board isn't the place as I don't think it's of much relevance to Cas Tigers and/or the new stadium.

| Quote wakeyrule="wakeyrule"Bit unnecessary, don't you think
Wakefield planning issues have got bugger all to do with Leeds, and any objections they raise will be dealt with by the planning process. When all said and done, Leeds are just a bit narked that Wakey have beaten them to it, cos IF we get permission it probably snookers any chance Leeds have for their side later on.
!'"
I agree Leeds shouldn't be able to scupper your ground! unfortunately the "planning process" will become a whole lot longer if/when they do oppose the scheme, do you really think central government is gonna just give planning for a stadium on green belt to a council when they already have planning for a stadium on the regions most visited non paying attraction?
