I didn't attend the game but from what's been said on here it doesn't sound like a penalty try should have been awarded.
As has been mentioned already by KR fans, unless the ref is very close to 100% certain that a try would have been awarded then he shouldn't award a penalty try. If Dixon didn't even have the ball in his hands I can't see how he could be certain that he would have scored hence it sounds like a penalty only should have been awarded - I presume one was?!
In the previous couple of games refs have made crucial decisions that have gone against us. Whilst the butterfly effect means you don't know whether Cas would have won had the ref given a different decision it's fair to say the decision didn't help in what were 2 very tight games.
As far as I recall, Morgan had a right old go at the ref in a game that KR were comprehensively beaten. I'd have thought that Matterson has at least as much right to complain in a tight game where one or two refs decisions could conceivably have made the difference...
