I'm not bothered what the Wildcats do and what comings and goings there are with their players. I'm a Cas fan and am only concerned with us and in saying that I mean no disrespect to the Wildcats and their fans.

WAKEFIELD TRINITY - The PRIDE of Sporting Wakefield

THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY IS DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS

I personally don't think wakey will be weaker next year. The signings they have made will enable them to move on next year, better than can be said for us at Cas.

The one worry I would have though is the astonishing number of "foreign" players that will be at the club next year (I really hope no-one attempts to excuse it with tales of ancestry).
SimonBarrett only mentions the forwards and he has already listed six definate "foreigners" with another potentially in Galea. All this without taking into account the backs.
Admitedly this is not wakeys problem though as it's the RFL who make the rules and wakey are only looking after their best interests so who can blame them.

This is the disappointing aspect for me.

I thought after 2006 when we had only 3 or 4 British players in that final decider that we were moving away from the foreigners. As you say rules is rules and it is the RFL that are at fault but I would prefer to see us retaining and recruiting British players (even better if they were locals).

Having said all that I do believe that we will be a better team next year although that may not be reflected in the table as can't see other teams (Warrington, Bradford, Hull, Wigan) performing as badly as they did this season

I reckon we've actually strengthened the squad. Can't see Castleford challenging us next season.

It's true, aside from Ben Jefferies, every player we've signed is stronger than the ones we've let go.

I'm not capable of that when I feel I'm right. Jefferies and Grix - I'm not a big fan of either, but I would have kept Brad Drew over both. But when we have a coach like John Kear, who am I to argue?

Mate, exercise some restraint. I'm trying.
