No, the thing that has made me said it was your cup final was the fact you started selling mugs. It makes us out to be a bigger, better side.
I have never ever said we lost because it was your cup final; the reasons we lost were (in no particular order) 1) We were poor; 2) We went to sleep; 3) A heavy penalty count in your favour and little in our favour.
Wakefield were not dangerous in attack although the comeback was good. Your scores were mainly off field position gifted by penalties given. I keep reverting back to the penalty at the scrum but we had a put in there, attacking on your line and a chance to wrap the game up. Child gives a penalty to you and the game switches back in your favour on the halfway line.
It's all by-the-by anyway and there's nothing that I or anybody else can do to change the result - enjoy your win but I wouldn't say it was entirely due to Wakefield being good. And if you want me to do a media-esque comparison it was because Cas were poor that Wakey won.
lol, From your perspective it may look like the mug idea is promoting the fact that we beat a better team against all the odds. From my perspective as a wakey fan its purely a clubs owner who is a businessman and half spots an opportunity to make a few 1000 on sale of merchandise after a tough derby win that was exciting to watch. Id say you started better than us this season, silly to say otherwise, but it wasn't one of those against the odds games for wakey as derby day for our teams are always cracking matches and eveners which is what we want as fans anyway.
The penalty maybe was a little harsh on cas but he did warn your players previous times for not packing down properly (i think). The penalty count helped a little in getting our tails up but the try's scored were not directly from penalties and it was finally good to see some young lads at wakey to unleash some attacking prowess in a purple 15 min patch. We've seen flashes but the team dont have the experience to bring more than flashes at this point.
Think cas did want the game as much as wakey and the effort was there from both teams which made for a good spectacle but you had your dominance pre half time and after and we had ours at the end of the game. Both teams played their part well and you were just a bit unucky and maybe did hit a tired spell at the wrong time.
Anyways, i'll be rooting for you guys tonight. Go tear some horns off some rhinos.
You'll find Cas fans will say we threw it away and Wakey fans will say they won it. Can't argue with either to be honest because both sets of fans look at things from their own point of view. All though most would agree a side near the top of the table, 24-4 up with 35 mins to go, should beat a side near the bottom. Most Cas fans will also say though, that we had no complaints in losing. We were crap and Wakey weren't.
The annoying thing about reading the stuff the press write or talk about is absolute trash. So many times I watch Sky sports for example and shout at the idiots talking for totally forgetting the small team who is playing. Wakey, Cas, Salford, Catalan, Quins are all written off before a ball is kicked while they blabber on about Wigan and Warrington (Who often aren't even playing!) only to then claim later on they knew all along the small team would win today against all odds, while reeling off a list of excuses for the big side (insert injury list, WCC match previous week/next week, tired after last weeks big game, preparing for next weeks big game, etc etc etc. All this of course comes from lack of competition. There's no other channel pushing them, except the BBC who are just as poor in their reporting.
Worst thing about all this though, is that many fans actually buy in to their theories and continue to spout the drivel on here and similar.
Very well said - the Sky regulars have their love affair with the so-called glamour sides and will always talk them up, or make excuses for them when they get turned over. I can't imagine what they'd make of a resurgent Wakey or Cas, playing out of a shiny stadium and vying for honours.

True.
Because the big clubs are so lavished with talent, it seems like a shock when a couple of them are missing. When Leeds or Warrington get a couple of injuries you'd think they were struggling to put 17 out when in reality they've still got a bench full of internationals, many of whom would walk into a 'smaller' clubs first choice team.
We were full of injuries too you plank so before you come trolling, it would be good to know what you was on about.
We will lose against wire then if we lose to quins comeback but i gaurantee you we will beat quins.
Settle down me old bean, not trolling just a little fishing and I hooked a big one for my entertainment .
All teams will have injuries throughout the season but the reality is top teams ala saints, Leeds, Wigan, wire have the strength in depth that clubs such as ours dont have the luxury of.
Anyway I watched vs Leeds, unlucky i was hoping cas would pull off a win. Wire will be another tough ask for you but quins you should stuff.
I won't come back and gloat if you slip down, happened to us at wakey last year and it's not a good feeling I know.
If we slip down, we slip down. I'd still take 8th. I've enjoyed the season so far and it's been good to get one over on some teams (Hull KR, namely).
I'd love us to beat Wire but we know they are capable of taking teams apart. The reality is at the moment that if we don't get bodies back for them, we run the risk of a royal hammering because they are streets ahead of Leeds.
It's disgusting. The mods should really do something about all those Wakefield trolls coming on here with ulterior motives, reviving this thread. Defeats and bad news in general should be swept under the carpet a.s.a.p. It's not as if it was a cup final or anything.
