You may well struggle mate, the town centre is pretty dead these days, enough pubs but people don't seem to use them as they used to!

Just a a few pubs in easy walking distance is fine mate, not too bothered if they're not busy. We'll probably work gradually towards the Bootroom.

Start by opposite the bus depot, club there,walk into town, Junction,Weatherspoons is down there, as I say, you'll find ample bars. Enjoy and get a result!

if you're making a day of it you will struggle really. Unless you wanna go a bit further afield.

Without going off on too much of a tangent, I've worked for 37yrs in Cas and had some wonderful nights/ days out, unfortunately I think the soulless Excape has ripped the heart out of Cas town centre!

good post. anyway this is hardly a new thing is it? our teams of the early 80s were made up mainly of kiwis, locals and players from the wakey/cas area, we have always taken players from this area. much as it would be nice to win a cup final with a team full of locals this is modern sport and you build the best team you can taking young players from clubs far and wide, you only have to look at football to see that, where the top teams academies are composed not of locals but foreign youngsters. The encouraging thing for FC is that the numbers of young players making the step up is increasing again, after a few years of neglect - something which is happening at quite a few other clubs too

Its up to us as a club to keep hold of our young players like Westerman, Watts, Arundel and Thompson. Its akin to Elliott Whitehead wanting to better himself in a top 4 team to some extent. Hull don't do too badly with the players they've had from the Castleford area over the years and the way I look at it - in a few years time when their new youth development system is bringing them through left, right and centre they might not need to rely on us so much. We might even get a few coming the other way.
