The sadest thing about this rubbish is that it is beyond local rivalry, Wakefield and Cas are two great rubgy clubs and the Derby cup game was a great advert for having two superleague team in the district. A section of my fellow Wakefield fans focus only on the fact that we get a ground before Cas. Does it really matter? What matters if that we support rugby in the district. We should fight together and not against each other at this time.
Lets look at what having us BOTH in superleague brings to the game. How many England players are from the district or through the local ranks? Westwood, Westerman, Ellis, Shenton, Fozzard, Burrow....the list goes on. Why are SL so focussed on deveoping areas outside of England? Is the team so strong against Oz and NZ we don't need to get English youngsters palying the game.
I think whatever happen Wakefield will go down and then what. SL want another London Club, another French club and Welsh club. I would say Scotland will also be in there soon. The game can only carry 14 clubs in SL so do Cas fan really think that Wakefield going will make their life easier. Say we go and in three year your stadium isn't build you could be next. No Wakefield district club would be terrible for the game.
The directors and the board making childish comments is madness. But it seems to be that lifetime true fans can see what SL are trying to do. Everyone is buying into the stadium francise thing but now the rubgy has been forgotten and the history of the game matters not. Some of you (Wakefield and Cas fans alike) should be ashamed and I am embarresed to read thes forums. We aren't a rich district money wise and over the next 10 years both clubs will have gone from superleague and we will wonder what the fuss is about having two great stadiums with not even enoung money to maintain them.

Totally agree. I've listened all weekend to the arguments over the FIFA presidency and the arguments over the running of English Rugby Union - both of which have overshadowed on-field events. In the case of FIFA its overshadowed the triumph of one of the greatest club sides we'll ever see (Barcelona) in one of the few games of footy I've felt like watching in the last 10 years. Made all the sweeter by the fact that they smashed scum!
The RFL should take note - what happens ON the pitch should ALWAYS take precedence over what goes on off it!

I was just thinking the same last night. In a way the RFL have many similarities to FIFA. Especially in the way that they are bending rules, to ensure that they get the SKY 'bung' of money, by leaning towards the SKY's chosen ones.
Change is inevitable ...except from a vending machine!

We have set an ambitious target of 15,000 signatures in 5 weeks. The council have agreed for the petition to be heard and debated in front of the full council. To get 15,000 to sign in such a short time will really show the council the depth of feeling shown for the development. Imagine what the reaction will be if we get 20,000.
Why the need to have the issue of a potential planning application, which has not even been made yet or anyone actually seen any outline proposals for (as far as I am aware, although I do know in some reasonable detail what they are going to show) debated before the whole of WMDC, prior to even the actual decision making body of members, the planning committee, even have the chance to look and comment upon it???

I wouldn't bother reading this bit, there is nothing interesting, witty or insightful down here, just this collection of boring words explaining that you really are wasting your time browsing this signature in the vain and futile hope that there will be a nugget, nay, a veritable goldmine of witticisms or divine philosophy. In reality, all you're going to get is disappointment, a sense of hopelessness and a random word.
Tell you what IA, I'm going to dispense with all news sources regarding Cas and listen to your opinions and thoughts which are always unerringly accurate </sarcasm>

Go and play the mini messiah somewhere else, you're nothing but a pain in the back side.

You will notice that this was a question, hence the ???.
So, three people have taken the route of having a go at me but not tried to answer the question. So what is the answer?
