We really need some perspective on this.
Yeah we were well and truly outplayed last night, Wakefield played the conditions much better than we did, and defended their line well, We missed Jones Ferres and McGoldrick as I'm not sure about anyone else's thoughts but I feel MecGoldricks enthusiasm rubs off on the others and lifts our game.
But if at the start of the season someone had said to us that from our first 8 games we'd have five wins we would have been over the moon. This was a bad day at the office every team will have them (yeah wakey even you) but it's not the end of our season. So get back behind the team turn up on Monday and cheer the boys on
I think this just about sums it up for me, I've posted some of these points on the other board.
It's also worth noting that we only had Dean Widders for 15 minutes or so. I think we'd have gone better with Boyle playing too, but for whatever reason TM thinks Massey is a better option. Not sure I agree with him there at all.
I also believe the conditions last night were completely detrimental to our style of play and we didn't really attempt to deal with that and change our play, rather we attempted to battle against them and carry on regardless, a battle which we ultimately lost. The amount of lost ball in the first half was horrendous.
Full credit to Wakey, they took us apart, and whilst I think 35-6 was fair in that we ultimately got what we deserved, I don't think it was a true reflection of the sides. When the players heads went down, Wakey turned the screw and really stuck it to us and we didn't seem too interested for the last 15.
