Why don't the club just come out with a statement saying Chase is contracted to Cas Tigers until the end of 2015 and is not going anywhere? Why are people at the club including the coach and CEO constantly saying "we will see what happens at the end of [uthis season[/u" and "Rangi will be a Cas player until the end of [uthis season[/u" when he is contraced to us for another 2 years?

No smoke without fire on this one IMO. The club are preparing its supporters for the news he will be leaving us.

Probably don't want the supporters turning on him halfway through a season, especially if he has an ordinary game once in a while. You make a good point Tigerade, if everything was rosy they would have been shouting it from the hilltops and putting rumours to bed.

From what I know about the situation - Chase is happy to stay at Cas Tigers. He hasn't asked for a move whatsoever. The club are issuing vague statements like the ones I have mentioned above to try and get such as the Doctor at Salford to put a bid in for him.
We tried it with St George a couple of months ago and nothing came of it - they didn't want to part with any cash. We tried it 13 months ago with Hull and that went as far as a fee been agreed but we all know what happened after that with Visa issues.

Tigers are playing a very smart game here. They don't want to look like they are the villains in the play. I think we are now at the stage where the good Doctor must put down a firm bid for Chase either publicly or privatley one-to-one with Castleford.

It's a valid point. It's also a valid point for Cas, as his Visa would have to be renewed if he wants to stay.

His working Visa imo wont be renewed at the end of this year and as far as I know he cant get another to play RL over here, therefore he doesn't have much choice if he wants to continue playing RL he goes "home".
As he has issues with his previous agent he cant be "sold" before the end of season and then I think he will move for free thus removing the agent issues !

He can get another visa to play SL, but it would be with Catalan, remember Greg Bird was not allowed to sign for the Bulls but he still got one in France, & played SL

He's been here 5 years and he's not been out the country for more than 180 days in any 12 months.
