4 weeks today - SL License time : Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:33 am  

The clock is well and truly ticking now, with the decision being announced in exactly 4 weeks from today.

Does anyone know at what time, and in what format the announcments are going to be made? Is it going to be a hand delivered letter to the club? or will be one of those moments where everyone in the RL community will be glued to the PC, TV or Radio waiting for their clubs name to be mentioned and given a license?

We don't even have a day. The RFL said they will announce not before the 26th of July. The RFL Board of Directors’ decision on which clubs will join Widnes Vikings in Super League in 2012 will be announced on Tuesday July 26.

I suspect it will be 10AM, all in front of the TV for the announcement.

It brings up images of WWII films where everyone was gathered around the radio for the news we had declared war!

Where will sky know where to send the cameras though? Unless they know beforehand

Camera at Wakey and Cas or a fast car stationed at Normanton.

In an ideal world there would be 8 sets of cameras. One for each of the C grade clubs, but of course this isn't an ideal world, it's the RFL!

Other than the applications for Wakey and Cas (and possibly Salford, Quinns & Crusaders) the rest, at the most, MAY have been given a cursory glance Most will have been shoved in a cupboard. That is the sham of this process. So it shows the inadequacies of the RFL to be unable to fix an actual date and time rather than try and give the impression that it is such an arduous task to pick the team to be booted out !! The whole RL world knows that unless they commit hari-kari, all the expansion clubs will get the nod and Salford have a stadium being built. So that only leaves Cas or Wakey. IMO the announcement will be on Radio Leeds at 10am on the 26th July and cameras and mikes will be at Cas and Wakey. That's the only two places where there will be any worthwhile 'news'. Oh, and the news will be good for Cas

Not for me, I'll be enjoying Copenhagen and relying on texts from people back home to let me know lol!
