Kirk Dixon, whose Challenge Cup heroics kept Castleford on course for Wembley, might have been playing on a rather different stage last Saturday had his career taken a different turn five years ago. The goalkicking threequarter, who played rugby union with Hull Ionians as well as Super League for Hull FC earlier in his career, was snapped up by Premiership outfit Northampton for a two-month trial in October 2006. Read more... I never knew how serious his injury had been last year but am glad he got through it - we seem to be getting the very best of him at the moment.
