| I have watched Castleford for over 50 years, and I must honestly say that ranks as one of the worst performances in the history of the club. It was a spineless effort, with only Ritchie Mathers playing to Super League standard.
No excuses about a tough easter programme, Warrington had exactly the same schedule.
Whether or nor the players had one eye on the Wakefield cup game remains to be seen, but never the less it was an unacceptable performance.
I thought we had turned the corner this season and were going to be a solid top 4 side, but on reflection yes the fixtures were kind to us. We have had what I call an outstanding victory at Hull, but all the others were against the lower opposition (except Huddersfield).
We have now lost to St Helens, Leeds and Warrington in successve league game. Quins next game at the probiz, surely we cant be as bad.

| Tbf we have had some awful defeats over the last few years ( wire at home 06, saints at home 09, leeds away when they put 70 on us) but last night was another of them. The best thing the players can do is put it behind them and bounce back next week and repay the fans with a win against wakey.

| For some strange reason I'm not the slightest bit bothered by it. We had no punch in the middle. Without Jackson I expected nothing else. Everything else stems from that. Dixon tried his best as well as mathers but they weren't given an inch. I have to say that Warringtons moving off the mark was blatent at times but whatever, it wouldn't have made the slightest difference to the result.

| Yes I agree totally with that. B ut we are a professional club. I bet Swinton put up a better performance than we did . Apparently the Wire supporters were saying that Keighley played better than Cas. Wouldnt take much though on last nights performance would it.

I'm not angered about it, although understandably those who paid money to go have the right to be.
At the end of the day I expected a big defeat; the lack of pack is really what is hurting us at the moment and we can't rely on Fozz, Emmitt and Massey to keep putting in long minutes.
We badly need another forward for a month or two just while we get Jackson and Walker back.
I just suppose I'm disappointed that we seemed to fold rather than put up some sort of fight.

| I think Mathers was awful last night. As iv said on a previous post he was out of position and looked intimidated by warrington. I think the thing that annoys me most is we had a wonderful start to the season yes but we seem to lack so much effort. I totally agree with Matterson in regards to you cant win every game. Look at Wakefield for instance there team is pretty poor in quality BUT they try right till the last and never leave the pitch thinking did we try enough. Personally i think we lost the game before it started, too many players looked scared to meet them up the middle and as for McG he simply showed the reason why we never play him in centre, i think in attack his best position is loose forward but there is not one place in defence for him and thats where the problem is. This is a rant dont get me wrong we have been great at the beginning of the year and injuries are against us but all i ask for as a cas fan is 100% effort from 1-17 on match day (id even accept 90% effort) Rangi Chase is the best five-eight in Super League but only behind Huby and unfortunatley Huby is injured so we seriously need to look at a recruit coming in to ease the load on our light pack. Fozzard didnt do too bad last night along with Orr.
I know this is probably a long and boring post but thats what these sites are for to express opinions, i just feel we need to stand up and show more grit and determination because what we did at the beginning of year is gone and we need to be playing well now and until the end of the season. Instilling confidence and determination is 80% the coaches job so c'mon Tez pick them up.

| Have to say I'm a bit bemused by fans reactions to this scoreline.
Warrington are the best side in SL presently at putting a big score on sides when they are on top - they've put this number of points on a few sides this season and put 30 past Wigan at Wigan - the side with probably the best defence in SL.
For me the margin of defeat at home to Leeds 2 wks ago was much more disappointing than this scoreline - Leeds are nowhere near as good a side as Warrington and Cas were at home! Yet the response to that performance from a lot of our fans was less dramatic.
Its evident now that the fixture list was kind to us with our opening fixtures yet we still picked up wins away at Hull and home to Huddersfield which I wouldn't have given us before the season started. That was balanced by the loss to Wakey but overall we're slightly in credit of where I'd have put us pre-season.
As fans we should revert to the pre-season expectations. A top 8 finish is to be expected and a top 6 place would be a bonus. This is still achievable.

I am sorry but you cannot condone losing 62-0 regardless of what side it is. Warrington have lost to Hull and Hudds 2 of the sides we beat. Fair enough we might now have won but losing by that is disgraceful to be honest and apparently we pride ourself on attacking and flowing rugby with Chase, so not been able to score really goes against us. Am sorry but never can you accept a scoreline like that. And we were woeful against leeds too looks too much like old cas for me but am not going to get carried away because we can pick up form just as quick as we lost it!

| Lets firstly face up to how awesome Warrington were last night. The score line didn't flatter them...they were that good, and would have inflicted a defeat on any other current SL team. It's just the scale of defeat that would vary team to team. They are not top of the table with such points differences for no reason. So credit to them!
Now what we need to do is look at ourselves and say what can we learn from the last 4 SL games. In my humble opinion, defence around the ruck, speed of playing the ball and runs from dummy half are areas where teams have exploited us over the past 4 SL games. Co-incidentally they are areas where we have not been quick enough, or sharp enough to get other teams on the back foot and gain us yards. We were doing this during our earlier games, and we need to regain the confidence to attack from dummy half again, phase after phase.
The runs from dummy half made by such as Owen last night were solely being used to buy time for the forwards to return to position or for them to get a breather. We have great attacking potential and we need to start using it more.

| Shocking performance.
And let's not build Warrington up too much. They've lost at home to Catalan and Hull recently so they're not bloody invincible.
Personally, it sickens me to see the likes of Mathers having golf days with his old mates in the opposition in the week of a game. It makes for being soft..and that's what Cas were.
