Neil's Notes v Dewsbury/Away Travel : Wed Feb 19, 2020 9:28 am
Certainly not the result we wanted and very disappointing. On a pitch that held up well considering the amount of rain we have had following Sunday's postponement the first half saw no tries with just the 3 penalty goals to Dewsbury. The penalty count in that first half kept us defending and as well down to 11 men at one stage did well to keep them out. As things opened up in the 2nd half and we were able to get into some attacking positions it looked like the tide had turned but we were unable to get that 2 score lead and so those penalties counted dearly. With no Steve Tyrer and Tom Gilmore off early on it was certainly a night to take every point on offer. Scott Murrell took the Shay Lounge MOM and the 3 points along with the sponsors MOM. 2nd place and 2 points in the Shay Lounge went to James Saltonstall with the 1 point to Shaun Robinson. The Hitman award went to Kevin Larroyer.
The half time draw winning number for £138 was 5252. Next week sees a break in the League as we start on the Coral Challenge Cup campaign. We are drawn away against Sheffield with the match to be played at Mobile Rocket Stadium Wakefield Bell Vue this Saturday at 2.00pm. The supporters coach leaves the Shay at 12 noon. Adults £10 with juniors £5. To book phone me on 07714488080. The following week we return to the Shay in the league where we entertain York who were the surprise package last season. Still taking Club 1873 membership before the first draw after our game against London on 22nd March. See me in the Shay Lounge or in front of the East Stand before and half time. Still lots to look forward to as the season gets going. Neil neilarber43@gmail.com |
