Neil's Notes v Rochdale : Mon Sep 02, 2019 7:40 am
With 11 tries and 7 goals and no points conceded that was better. Some real entertaining tries against a Rochdale side who have a lot of rebuilding to do in Championship 1 next season. Steve Tyrer again jumping high to pick out 2 pin point kicks to touch down along with the 7 goals took the sponsors MOM but was pipped into 2nd place in the Shay Lounge MOM by Keegan Hirst who once again showed his worth in another strong forward performance and also took the Hitman award. James Woodburn-Hall took 3rd and the 1 point in the Shay Lounge. Steve having already won the Shay Lounge Player of Season took his final points to 19 with James Saltonstall 2nd on 10 points and Shaun Robinson just retaining 3rd place by 1 point from Will Sharp, Ed Barber and James Woodburn-Hall. All 3 will be presented with a case of beer at the Awards night on Thursday with Steve picking up the Shay Lounge Player of Season Trophy. There will be no voting after the York game on Sunday with the awards night taking place before this game.
One thing taking place though after the York game is the final draw in Club 1873 when the main prize of a 2020 Season Ticket will be made. The winners against Rochdale were Stan Gledhill number 57 who picked up the £25 voucher and Tony Drummond number 41 the £20 voucher. Depending on results on Saturday between the other top 5 Clubs the York game could be one not to miss with the possibility of York needing to win to get the runners up spot. The half time draw winning number was 2831 for £154. Voting for the Supporters Player of the Season is now closed. Despite it not being our best season voting both on line and at yesterdays game has been very good. The result will be announced at the Star Man dinner at the Shay on Thursday night compared by Pete Emmett when all the other supporters awards will be presented. Still time to book. Cost is £25, starts at 7.30. Contact the Club to book on 342792. Neil Arber neilarber43@gmail.com 07714488080 |
