Unfortunately for me as much as the CC is an historical iconic event etc.
Where Fax are concerned it something we have no chance of winning.
The best we can hope for is that any sort of cup run gets a home tie against a big club for the revenue and it doesn’t end in the ambarrasment of last year or interfere with the league comp.

It’s noticeable that both Toulouse and Toronto are not taking part likely with that in mind.

Rugby Union have abolished their "all team" cup as they came to the conclusion that most teams actually lost money on it, and now have a cup for the top division and one for the lower one. Perhaps, for once, we should follow them.

The fact that SL clubs would love that is enough reason never to do it.

The greed and disparity of top clubs all but kills off the challenge cup to add to the league competition.The format of the cc actually means it's not impossible for a championship club to get to the semi or even final but a resulting 70-0 scoreline does nothing for anybody.

Isn’t that what the 1895 cup is a precursor for?
