The sad thing for me is that non of us have had the opportunity to see how he might go at first team level . The lad should have been at least tried out to see if he could step up .....sorry but RM needs to speed up his decision making it seems all over the place the last 18 months. Especially in the " backs" department . He seems far too comfortable with defence and forwards but attack and "backs" appears to be a foreign language to him. It always worried me that when Marlon was his assistant Marlon was the attack coach and rm defence . When you can choose for yourself you tend to avoid the areas you are least comfortable doing I suppose that leads me to the question that out of all our current assistant coaches who actually is the attack coach ? To me it should be Gonzalas and Grix and both should start to have more say on the team and our attacking structures. At Rochdale we didn't look like we played to any attacking pattern. Watching Leeds Cas last night at least you could very clearly tell how each team were shaped in attack .with a v shape around the playmakers with people ready to hit the opposition line we seem to do it when we click but float off when not concentrating.
