I must admit i'm normally on here defending the referees after the game but even i can't defend that debacle. Even the worrincy chance at the end his decision was wrong. It was either a try or a penalty for double movement as worrincy had grounded the ball over the line. However he gave a hand over on the 10m line.
When we kicked through in the first half and the widnes defender clearly blocked it with his foot, should have been an extra set of six. He waved play on and still last tackle.
When he didn't know what happened he looked at his touch judges who seemed oblivious to the goings on on the pitch and would give random ball steals. The one in the second half where they dropped it and you could even see from the players reaction that he dropped it as he didn't even appeal for anything. Suggesting even he thought he lost it. Loughton who looked at his touch judge got the ball steal sign after a pause of about 30 seconds while the touch judge made his mind up. So he clearly didn't see it either. As you would make a decidion straught away not after 30 seconds.
I could go on but my fingers are hurting from typing all this. At the end of the day, Laughton should be suspended for at least two weeks for that performance, but he'll probably get the challenge cup final instead.
