AM I RIGHT? I'M NOT WRONG!

Rob Worrincy : Sun Jun 14, 2009 7:28 pm
A very controversial thread this might be.

I love Rob. He tries his nuts off. BUT ..... we signed him to make block busting long range efforts ... not just simply run the blasted ball back in the tackle.

And I was spitting chips when he lost the ball near the end which could have blown it or us.

So ... come on Rob ... pump them friiging legs and lets see what you can REALLY do!!

Personally I felt he played his best game defensively today and I thought he looked a lot more confident.

It looks like Worrincy just needs that little bit of good luck now so he can open his legs and go - always just seems to half get away in traffic but never clear.

I want to see more in attack, shayfax. I was caght in themiddle of "run ****** forard" and "he is running forward!" arguments today. He doesn't run forward IMO. He stops and runs sideways and all that.

Agree there, and see your point. I think the problem is (from what I observed today) that we get too clogged up towards the sidelines, our centres run outwards at an angle giving the winger very little space to dart to the line. If the centres can run straighter and draw the defenders in, it should open up darting runs for Lee and Rob.

To be fair to him i think he is making good progress. He`s not a slacker who hides. He is always willing to take the ball up which inevitably will result in the odd knock on. I think if we keep the faith he will be a good un.

Rob has had his share of doubters, but if we remember back to early last season, Miles took a lot of stick from some doubters and we only have to look at him now. He is one of the crowd favourites and plays well week in week out.

I think that given time, Rob will become a valuable member of the team and he has already improved his standard since arriving at the start of the season. His ball carrying has improved greatly and he looks much more secure under the high ball.

These are skills that can be worked on and given time he will master them and come on greatly in a winning squad.

To be fair to him when he `dropped` the ball at the end it was reefed by a Barra player and as 1 Barra player had already dropped off the tackle it should have resulted in a penalty to us. Think hes doing ok and will get a lot better.
