Weekly Update from Halifax RLFC : Tue Jun 09, 2009 1:55 pm
Hi there, this week’s update is quite long. . .success on the field means quite a bit of organising off the field.

Barrow

This weeks game is a real table topper - probably the biggest league game of the season so far. . .The team is definitely up for it hopefully you can help us by doing what you did at Cas! Everyone in Blue and white and noisy too. . last weeks chants about Penky and Porky were hilarious and after speaking to the team they say how great it is to run out and see all blue and white and even they had a chuckle on the pitch at the chants. . .so more of the same please.

Richard will be signing up new lottery members under the South stand. Last week he signed up 40 new people so that’s part way to a new player, but if you can help with this lottery drive we’ll all be grateful especially Matt and Martin.

Prices for the Barrow game will be £14, £9 and £1. Another Kids for a Quid game.

Widnes Semi Final of the Northern Rail

This game WILL be played at the Shay on SUNDAY June 21st KO 3pm. . . As a cup game it will be a pay on the gate game Prices £14, £9, £5 BUT Junior season tickets will be valid again for this game.

This is our first proper semi final for many years and obviously one to win. . . Please help us again by being in BLUE and WHITE and by shouting the team on. Widnes are talking about bringing 10 coach loads of fans so we SHALL be opening the North Stand for this game.

We are doing a dining special in the Function room. We shall be doing a two course served meal before the game followed by hot food after the game and we are hoping to have some special entertainment for the diners with a guest appearance by one of the contestants from the recent “ Britains got Talent” competition.

Its Fathers day so this could be just that gift for your Dad. . It’s £35 for adults £30 for concessions and £15 for youngsters. Prices include Food, entertainment before and after the game and admission to the game too.

We have already taken more bookings than normal for this package so if you want to book ring the club on 01422 342792 as soon as possible as we are limited on space.

Northern Rail “9”s and Cup final July 11th & 12th

Although we have yet to beat Widnes if we are to go to the Final at Blackpool , The RFL have already told us that the Ticket allocation for the two teams may well be restricted. . a figure of 2,000 tickets has been suggested as our allocation were we to be in the Final. . Given that we have well over half of that number as season ticket holders (and of course season ticket holders will qualify for preferential ticket allocation) that could well cause a shortage of tickets for everyone who might want to go to the final.

We currently have 150 tickets allocated to the Club for the Northern rail “9”s weekend. These tickets are priced at £9 if purchased before the weekend, but can be upgraded FREE for the final should Halifax get there (the cheapest Cup Final ticket is £12). Should you wish to go to both the “9”s and the Cup final these tickets can be upgraded for both by a further payment of £5 (you’d see both the “9” s and the Cup Final for £2 extra than just the Cup Final).

By buying one of these 150 tickets now you guarantee yourself a potential cup final ticket or at the worst a weekend at the “9”s. . it seems to make sense if you don’t have a season ticket to go for one of these?

Challenge Cup Tickets

The Club has been allocated 100 Challenge Cup tickets which we can sell at a discount For example £26 tickets can be bought for £20. .So if you’re thinking of going to Wembley this year give us a ring if you need tickets. .same number as before 01422 342792

Re Arranged Fixtures

The Sheffield away game which was scheduled for Friday August 14th will now be played on THURSDAY August 13th KO 8pm. Apparently U2 are playing at Sheffield the week after and need to start setting up the stage on the Friday.

The Leigh away game which should have been played on Sunday May 10th (we were in Challenge Cup that date) will now be played on Wednesday August 19th KO 8pm.

Supporters Trust Meeting Tomorrow

In the new Dining Function room (if you’ve been in yet you can look it over) the Trust are holding a Referees Roadshow. . why do they make such daft decisions? You can ask them! The players and Matt will be there after training too and there’s a free Pie and Pea supper too.

You don’t have to be a member to come along but get there early as the Trust have had a lot of interest in this event already.

The date for the re-arranged Leigh game is more acceptable to both clubs. Leigh are at home to Toulouse, on the previous Saturday, and 'Fax away to Sheffield, on the Sunday.

Mind you, as a programme editor, I'm not too chuffed about having to do two programmes in five days!!

I'm from Leigh - you can't expect me to read so much in one go! So, you do get the advantage, eh? I thought you lot might have taken a little pity on us?

I'll be getting in touch, to remind you about the article, for that game!! (if you still want to do it?)

Many thanks - I appreciate your offer. I'll get in touch a little nearer the time, when we've discussed the deadlines for the two home games.

NRC final : Wed Jun 10, 2009 6:48 am
Should we be fortunate enough to get to the final (not counting any chickens) I understand that the club will be allocated 2000 tickets, but how many are they likely to allocate for each season ticket holder.

I am a season ticket holder, but will need 3 tickets, the extra 2 being for people who come with me regularly and pay on the gate.
