Touchline has devised a unique ‘money can't buy' prize for the May online competition. The winner will be able to pick a Super League fixture during June and join the referee and his team of match officials for a behind-the-scenes matchday. Linking up with the referee two hours before kick off, the winner will experience the dressing rooms, the warm up, game duties with the Match Commissioner, a visit to the video referee facility, the post-match press conference and after-match meal. As part of the experience you get to:

- learn how to laugh off your bad decisions
- be abused by the crowd for being crap
- learn that refs are smug and never make errors, they're just human after all!!!
- learn how not to make a decision as there are tv cameras around
- miss the obvious and make your own rules up

All this and more will give you a real days experience as a match official

I think this would be an interesting prize and would probably give an insight into just how difficult a job it really is.

I definately will be doing when I am at home, access blocked here at work.

I would love to see what goes on behind the scenes for the officials. I call them week in week out at games, where I have my blue and white glasses on, and then when I watch the Sky games think they dont do a bad job.

Agreed, in fact the 2nd ref idea is good one. The more officials, plus touch judges that can do more and more camera coverage the better.

It's still not an interesting prize in the slightest.
