supporting Halifax through thick & thin!

: Thu May 21, 2009 10:55 pm
Great turn out tonight by all us fans, but looking at the crowd on tv, looked really sparse, at the game looked really busy on our side.

Shows that we arent all as fickle as a small minority of the supporters who thought it was the end of the world when we got beat at the weekend & that we will continuwe to support Fax no matter what.

Most of us did mate.
What are you lot doing in that huge stadium, surely you would be better off at a smaller ground no?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Did it work , did you take a reasonable amount of extra fans that would not have normally gone ?

I guess that we would have taken about 250 for a Thursday night match at Donny so yes about an 'extra' 150 or 200 went imo
We took about half the crowd, poor old Donny, the few fans they have are brilliant though well done to them.

Just looked at the attendance of just over a thousand

I dont really see how clubs can continue on these sort of gates long term

Some serious thinking needs to be done as regards the worth of having the championships televised

Does it bring anything to the sport at this level other than our league sponsorship ?

There were quitye a few faces that you only see at some away games last night, I think the free travel may have encouraged some of these people to go along

6 Busses about 300 fans. A raffle on each bus brought another £300, which was handed over to Donny at half time. :GROUPHUG:

Not criticising thought or the effort made by Fax , but it might be time to look and see what if any benifits being on TV the clubs in the Championships actually get

We are halfway through our 3 rd year of TV coverage on thursday nights , in peoples opinion has being on TV been a success

From a financial point of view , ie have the clubs been able to draw better sponsorship deals because of it ?

Has being on TV improved awareness in our towns and resulted in bigger crowds both for the televised matches and other games ?

Should it continue as a live programme on a thursday or would a highlights show on say a monday night be better for the clubs ?
