At least our cockyness as been earned through hard work at our club, not because some big money, big mouth chairman as bank rolled us to the top. Why doesnt mr Big mouth, mega bucks pay for some new food lights? Not seeing the game is bad enough but going to the tollet in the pitch black must be a health and safety issue.
Des doesn't put as much money as people think into the club and certainly wouldn't be in a position to splash out the £200,000 required for the floodlights. Even if he offered, the I'd rather he spent the money on a decent team than have a cr@p team and good floodlights.
As for the bollox about 'earned through hard work', what do you think it has taken to get a club from NL2 mediocrity to top of the Championship? Des got involved in the club in 2006, so it's hardly been overnight success.
Again regarding Craven Park, the club could sell up and go into a council owned stadium (indeed one was planned for the new marina complex), but that would mean selling a massive asset. You only have to look at the recent history of Fax, Widnes, Oldham, Donny etc etc to see what happens to finances when you go into a groundshare or council/commitee-owned facility.
Anyway, despite most Fax fans on this forum seem to have absolutely no respect for our club or what we have achieved so far (we obviously don't deserve it), I am looking forward to Sunday's. game I just hope ref Hewer doesn't have too much bearing on the match.
