Not sure why no ones posted after a largely entertaining performance against admittedly fairly limited opposition. I'll admit to initially being disappointed that Grix had displaced JWH at fullback but happy to hold up my hands as I thought he was excellent throughout bringing the best out of the entire backline. On the back of this thought both halves played really well, with several belting tries including 2 where quick hands led to traditional wingers tries where they were given a run to the line - can't remember when we last got one of these in a game let alone two!

It were a little patchy at times but was good to see us get a big win under our belts in the run up to next week. We also scored a number of very nice tries as well which again its been a while since we have turned the style on like that. Performance wise I thought Kavanagh was very good for us along with Connor Robinson on his return. In the backs McComb was very good again and has really earnt his place as a starter with a number of good displays capped with a good try at the end, and Worthington who is probably the best centre we have seen down at the Shay for a number of years. Nothing gets past him in defence and set up two tries that he could probably have scored himself.

The bad parts - As many of us guessed JWH was the fall guy and for me it sends out the wrong messgae that Grix and Harris can be as bad as they were last week and keep their places. As it is Harris's injury looks like it solves the decision for a short time. For me Grix is a passanger for us, he is at that point now in his career where he won't carry the ball in effectively leaving us with a back 2 and was lucky yesterday as he could have given away 2 tries against better teams with mistakes. I do think on attack he did add something though but nothing that JWH can't do.

Good in the longer range attack with some cracking tries and a couple of others that were nearly there but just lost the plot closer to their line at times.
Overall some good D just a couple of lapses in that 20 minute spell after half time when the were still in the dressing room.
Happy to get past a banana skin game with a convincing result.

I think you some up yesterdays game and the situation with certain players being un droppable spot on. We did a good job in the first half and even could of had a couple more tries but overall a good half of rugby. Then for about 20-25 minutes in the second half we went back to how we played at widnes giving away penalties and dropping the ball right left and Centre and got punished with a couple of soft tries. But then we got our act back together to finish with some really good tries. We cant afford to drop off like that in the upcoming games it will cost us dear we will need to be really ruthless to keep third spot it could even go down to the last game against batley. As for mom grix did have a better game but for me mcComb or worthington should of got it if you are picking a back or in the forwards kavanagh had is best game for a while.

Some good trys on the highlights. Whitehaven thrashing widnes puts perspective on things. Swinton defence looked at best amateurish.
Any attendance figure given?

I thought it was a return to form at a good point in the season, we need to build on that going forward now. Apart from the 3rd quarter it was a pretty complete display with some cracking tries along the way. Bring on next week. København in The Fax, Vocation Bread & Butter 3.9% Mmm! :DRUNK: Up The Fax!
