I don't think Grix is the answer. I'm not doubting the guys credentials as a player, his rugby acumen and the respect her garners from the playing group but the appointment has to be a deeper one. Appointing Marshall was about building a sustainable club with the reserves and academy. He had a long apprenticeship at Warrington, working in a great system over many years and he will be a better coach when he takes on his next job. Whilst respect and belief in a system is integral, being a coach in professional sport has evolved with science and analytics, even psychology. While we clearly won't have such resources to call on and if Grix is given the job, he needs some kind of experienced assistant(s) whose also going to make him a better coach as well. I know someone on this forum mentioned that senior players would take training etc and so maybe he has already been building his capabilities under Marshall's guidance. Can only wish the guy good luck if he his appointed.
