The USA has always tried to tell the world that it is a beacon of democracy, as an example for the world to follow.
Trump, not content with utterly dividing the population is now doing all that he can to trash the very democracy that they have.
Planning for civil unrest as so many people will be up in arms, whichever way the result goes.
Politics ahs always been described as "grubby" but, this is at a whole new level.

We are not used to US politics. This is what it's like. Lawyers, lawyers and more lawyers. My US colleagues are fairly used to this. Non of Trumps legal challenges even have any statements from observers claiming to have witnessed irregularities and all are being dealt with correctly by judges. The electoral commission there has some weight and as long as they are seen to be doing their job correctly (which they are) then all Trumps lawsuits will be thrown out and he'll never get near the supreme court.
When Bush got the supreme court to stop the count in Florida back in 2000 he was ahead and cited national unrest and uncertainty damaging America. Trump can't do this now as he's behind. Recounts won't help him as all the votes will have to be recounted (which is what the Democrats want and which will certainly only add to their totals more than Trump).
I think he's going to try and cause national unrest, riots etc. and try and go to the Supreme Court and claim that he must be declared President to stop serious civil unrest. If he does this then I would like to see the UN and other countries refuse to acknowledge him as the rightful leader but I think that ultimately the Republican Party will not go that far. If they had lost control of the Senate then maybe but they haven't so they look to be already distancing themselves from Trump and his idiot deranged sock puppet Giuliani.
