The older I get, the better I was

Advice is what we seek when we already know the answer - but wish we didn't

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full-frontal lobotomy

You need to be desperate to proclaim this as one of the ten best things your party leader has done during his term as Prime Minister...

5. A higher and more sustainable retirement age.

First of all WTF is a "sustainable" retirement age other than an unwillingness and long standing inability of all governments to tackle the issue of state pensions ?

And secondly - why be proud of the fact that you are forcing (not even asking) your citizens to work for more years than previously - I would have thought that LOWERING the retirement age would be something to be proud of.

It's a bit like the Wail declaring, a year or so ago, that one of the very greatest bits of St Maggie of Grantham's legacy was that we in the UK are now the only Europeans who are working longer than in the 1980s (even though our GDP has fallen but don't let's mention that).

I was rather hoping they'd add:

11) Hasn't declared war on Iran (yet)

12) Hasn't been caught shagging a goat

That would be the appropriate way of phrasing it for the Tory spin machine as well.

"We're not saying he doesn't shag goats, or that he hasn't at some point in the past shagged one, but he certainly hasn't been caught doing it. At least not by anyone who lived long enough to tell the rest of the world what they saw."

Freedom without Socialism is privilege and injustice.
Socialism without freedom is slavery and brutality.

He has admitted that he rode Rebekah Wade's horse ... maybe that was just a euphemism though.

I like to think I have a vivid imagination, I have a flair for exaggeration and can make the mundane seem colourful and interesting at the drop of a hat. But I am foooked if I can imagine Nick Clegg "demanding" anything other than another spanking from matron.
