Ah right, cheers for that. So the matches you play are just like regular games, but your team consists of the players who's cards you own? Is that right?
I think both games will be great, I've got a sneaky feeling that PES master league (does it still have Minanda, Castello, Vornander et al? may get more attention than FIFA Career. Saying that though I get to play as Sheffield Wednesday in FIFA, always a bonus.
Ive found that stores like GAME and to a lesser extent Gamestation seem to be encouraging people to pre-order games more and more on the basis that it will help them to ensure there are enough copies available on release.
I used to do this years ago but dont bother now as there always seems plenty of copies available on the day of release.

I have done with FIFA, purely because of the Ultimate Team packs. Otherwise I wouldn't as these days with work it's not like I've got all day on release day to play it like I did at Uni.

Same here really although back in the day the staff in places like GAME wouldnt dream of approaching you and giving you the hard sell - how things have changed.
When was the last time a game sold out on the day of release?
Th only game i ever had a problem getting hold of was Rugby League 2 on the PS2.
The FIFA 12 demo is so hard. I've dialled it down to Professional and still can't score.
I had Dani Alves bombing down the wing last night and he pulls up injured. The AI ran on and put the ball out. Great touch.
What's the crack with career mode? I went on to read the preview, there didn't seem to be talk of drastic changes. I mean, if you're gonna sell a career mode, you don't make the main attraction the new collision system that adds real injuries, do you?

I dunno, it's not on the demo. Career mode is supposidly vastly improved with a lot of work gone into it for once.
The improvements they have publicised are:
Scouting - You can now scout players. The more you scout them, the more accurate the reports are. But the more you scout them the more you are linked to them in the press and the more likely a bid from another club is.
Budgets & loans - You can now swap wage budgets into transfers and vice versa like in FM and you can loan players who aren't listed.
Transfers - Now more speculation about transfers, pressure on you from other clubs if you have players playing well etc. A proper deadline day setup based on Sky Sports News esque rumours and bids etc.
Personalities - Players now have personalities, form and morale, so you will have to give them game time. If they play well they'll kick off about moving to a bigger club etc.
And most importantly they claim it will be playable from release date and won't take 9 months to patch.

Dead Island sold out like mad on xbox 360, although I can only assume that was due to some serious supply problem as opposed to particularly high demand.

The only modern games I can imagine ever had supply problems would have been GTA4, Modern Warfare 2 or possibly Shenmue on the Dreamcast. To be fair, it's less likely to happen these days as creating each copy of a game costs literally pence in media and duplicators fees, far less than it did in the days of tapes and floppy disks and obviously the very expensive media of cartridges. For that reason alone I would expect the last fully sold out game to be a Nintendo 64 game.
