So much for rehabilitation of offenders : Wed Aug 08, 2012 4:02 pm
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-somerset-19181071

Amazing that someone who has lerd an exemplary life for 46 years is barred from a job for a trivial offence as a 13 year old.

If someone like him is going to be discriminated against how difficult is it for anybody to else to show they have been rehabilitated.

Arguaby, it shows a very serious character flaw for someone aspiring to serious, high office: the apparent inability to stand up for his own principles and go along with something he says he did not believe in.

He was 13 FFS, he had an airgun not a feckin' sub-machine gun.

Me and my mate across the road did stupid stuff with an air gun when we were young, shot empty cans and the like, neither of us have gone on to commit any crime more serious than a parking ticket. It's frankly ridiculous that it's still on his record.

That's a bit pathetic, but if he was a Tory MP I'm sure the tone from the majority on here would be different.

Far from it, I think it shows he came from a normal background where occasionally kids do silly things.

What a shame he couldn't just chuck some notes at the restaurant owner to pay for all the damage he and his mates caused... Oh sorry, got a bit confused there.

Except Tory MP's don't get caught with an air gun when they're 13 and have to face the punishment. They get to trash restaurants when they're at university and not get punished in any shape or form.
