TBH you are making it worst by the aruging, all Mark said (in slightly different words) it that will be playing the Official (hightlighted for a reason) rules as agreed with the RFL. Because there are the RFL laws, I feel its only right to play tag rugby in this way, otherwise we are not playing Tag Rugby League, but a different sport all together.
Our game today was played in the right spirts because it was no contact allowed. If hand offs (or fending of tags) are acceptable, then to avoid these the attackers have to go in with the intention of stopping the man to take the tag, causing more contact and thats when the game turns nasty, and as has been seen many times before, turns into all but tackle.
I also think that while it should be dicussed at the league meeting, its also worth while talking about it now. Afterall one of the good things about our set up (IMBRL and TML) is that we have always been open with everything, and locking threads because people disagree with different things means we might as well not have a forum.
