I dont see a problem with the rules personally. I've played about 75 or so games using these (or very similar rules) and there has never been a problem, aside from one incident against Rochdale, oddly enough, when someone started throwing punches. I would hope that was an isolated incident though.
I wonder how having no contact at all would work, but Id be willing to try it obviously. If you dont run directly at someone then thats fine, but what happens if the defence is tight enough for there to be no gaps? What happens if someone is running at a gap and then someone moves into the gap as the attacking player is focusing on his/her teamate who is passing them the ball, contact will be inevitable in some circumstances I think. In my opinion if some contact does happen then we should all be grown up enough not to go in a huff about it and start name calling.
In all honesty, despite all of mark2's postulating, Rochdale arent exactly the cleanest team I've played against. I dont want to stoop to a low level and begin a petty arguement but maybe you should start to practice what you preach and not use foul language whilst playing, that includes calling one of my team mates a fat f****r in the recent world club challenge tournament, despite the RFL being present.

and i was really insulted! No, really!!
After being the one on the end of one of your "punches" Mark, to say SWARM wont be having any contact at all is a bit rich. We played Leigh last season at their place and was one of the better games of the season despite us losing because it was played in the spirit that Rugby should be played in.
Might help us to remember what got us started watching rugby in the first place all those years ago and i bet it wasnt because there was the prospect of absolutely no contact in the games.
